BUGS BEDDOW
- BOARD
OF DIRECTORS CANDIDATE
"I am a tireless promoter and champion of the Detroit
music scene, having won Outstanding R&B Band in 2000, 2002, & 2003
as well as gathering many nominations for recordings, performances, and individual
musicians in my group over the past 20 years (http://www.bugsbeddow.com/awards.htm).
I have been involved with Music Awards in Detroit dating back to the early
1980's and have played Music Award Performances with Martha Reeves, Newt &
the Salamanders, and many other fine and talented folks. I am not only a veteran
Detroit bandleader and recording artist of over 20 years, but also a longtime
member of the Detroit Musicians Union Local 5, a fully certified State of
Michigan Music Education teacher currently guest teaching in the West Bloomfield
School District, a Detroit Blues Society Member, a Capitol Area Blues Society
member, a former International Jazz Educators Association officer, an International
Trombone Association member since 1974, an MSBOA member, and of course, a
long-time Motor City Music Foundation member and supporter. I pledge to attend
all meetings, continue to promote the MCMF and its goals, and be honored to
serve as a Board Member."
