Duffy
King - Guitarist / Singer / Songwriter
Energetic, kinetic grooves, driving rhythms, searing, blistering leads, finesse
and feel are words that have been used to describe Duffy's style of electric
guitar playing. Hailing from Detroit with fifteen years of professionial experience,
Duffy has toured throughout the world, done numerous studio sessions including
major label releases that have been nominated for Grammy Awards and Billboard
Magazine awards, nationally televised ads, and earned a reputation as a world
caliber guitarist while playing with an array of world class musicians. Well
versed in all styles of playing, Duffy is best known for his potent Jazz/Rock
and R&B/Funk chops.
Duffy's talent doesn't stop with playing guitar. His song writing skills have
won awards in Billboard Magazine's Songwriter's Contest, Marlboro's National
Talent Search, and received acclaim for his solo release, Livin' for the Big
Time, which charted in the top 10 on many radio stations throughout the midwest
region. In addition to playing the guitar, Duffy also performed vocals and produced
the 1994 Motor City Music Awards' R&B Record of the Year, Bootleg Brigade, by
the bugs Beddow band.
Throughout 1995 and 1996, Duffy knocked 'em dead at each performance on a worldwide
clinic / promotional tour for Gibson Guitar Corporation. As a Clinician / Product
Specialist, Duffy is able to combine musicality, humor, fun and information
to create an entertaining and productive clinic / performance that transcends
language barriers.
Most recently, Duffy laid the guitar tracks on the latest release (scheduled
4/97) by gold and platinum international Polygram artist, Mathias Reim, also
a two-time recipient of the World Music Award. And for the second consecutive
year gave a show stopping performance as a featured artist at the Thoroughbred
Music Florida Guitar Show - one of the world's largest guitar shows.
