1. Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be an outstanding teacher.
An outstanding teacher:
-should provide instruction within a relevant and meaningful context.
-should provide a well planned, academically challenging learning environment that addresses individual student needs.
-should be an active participant in the learning process, working in partnership with students to achieve predetermined goals and outcomes.
-have regards to the overall curriculum by providing meaningful instruction, activities, and projects that challenge students to read, write, think, and speak articulately.
-throughout the year, offer students a variety of opportunities and options to demonstrate their knowledge, growth, and learning.

2. How would you address a wide range of skills in your classroom?
I would use a scaffolding approach to support the progressive development of individual skills, integrate the development of technical, information handling and social/communication skills, and attempt have the more advanced students act as mentors to those still developing. Group instruction would address the needs of the unit as a whole.

3. What personal characteristics define an excellent administrator?
An excellent administrator has a clear understanding of content standards, curriculum, and assessment techniques and also must understand adult learning theory. They need excellent interpersonal skills, and benefit from prior experience facilitating groups. Since so many new teachers work with English-language learners, expertise in language acquisition is important. Successful administrators are insightful, patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic, and must be themselves willing to collaborate and learn.

4. From your point of view, how important is technology in education. What technology-related skills can you contribute to a school district?
Technology is a very useful tool in education when combined with a teacher's knowledge of subject matter, coupled with their enthusiasm. It is an important tool that can help in reaching a greater number of students in a shorter amount of time. I became a teacher in 1975, taught for 3 years, then pursued a career in the computer industry as a programmer/analyst for 22 years. As I return to teaching, I bring a deep understanding of advanced technology to the school district with me.
